Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da...Feelin' Groovy.
What cha knowin'?
I've come to watch your flowers growin'.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
I've got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.
I blame my Mom and her love for folk/rock for the soundtrack that always plays in my head. I was raised with the constant sounds of Simon & Garfunkel (I even walked down the aisle to one of their songs), Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young...you get the picture. And while, I hated that she'd pick me up from school with the windows down and songs blaring, all while she sang along loudly and proudly, I have grown to love and appreciate the music she loves. I'm not kidding when I say that I can relate any one of her favorite songs to something that's going on in my life. The 59th Bridge Song popped in my head, yesterday, as M and I enjoyed some time on the beach. It was perfect. And I'm so glad those beautiful lyrics came to mind. Because, really, I do need to slow down. I do move to fast.
